Absolute insanity! I get it though, the Pandemic chased price up real high.

Yup, we have wanted to upsize for almost a year, but there's no way I am paying Covid insanity prices.

I figure it's a bubble that has to burst. New boat dealers are sold out for up to two years, and used boats are insanely overpriced as a result.

I have really seen the seller greed hit the past month. I have also seen some price "reductions." And boats don't appear to be selling within hours after listing. We are probably near the top.

This could become the new standard (higher used boat prices) . I never understood how such a large ticket item depreciated so much in 5 years. I do get the market (sellers) kind of dictated the used boat cost. In other words, sellers were okay with selling a 5 year old boat for 20 to 30 percent less of what they bought it new. Some may argue that a 5 year old boat is better than new, all bugs done. When I bought my 2007 Silverton 45C in 2012 it was perfect for the 7 years I owned it. When I sold it in 2019 other than a few hoses that needed replacement boat flied through the survey. Point is, the hit used boats have taken IMHO is silly. Especially when you look at the same boat and the cost to buy brand new. Just saying, this current used boat pricing may be with us for a while.

I don't know if you have been shopping, but the current used boat pricing is stupid for the most part. For example, guy asking $125,000 for a 1998 370 sundancer. Nice ones would have gone 70,000-80,000 a few years ago.

I just closed on the sale of my 530 Voyager & the bottom line is after 3+ years of ownership the boat sold for an high enough amount that I netted what I paid for it. Don’t get me wrong, I put a bunch of upgrades well above that amount but the boat was showing it’s 21 years.
As to the hunt for a replacement(s) Ive been slowing down as the market is indeed crazy. Unless I come across some sort of distress sale I’ll just wait and enjoy the water view in my new back yard

I'm hearing about buyers remorse, they never expected to find boating to be so expensive, plus, it frustrates in the beggining when you can't dock it very well! LOL I expect to see more used boats for sale next year, I hope....

I'm hoping the same...
