1981 3007 aft cabin oil change

Hello,
I have an 1981 Carver 3007 Aft cabin, and I need to change the oil an filters on the 350 crusaders. How in the heck do I get to the filters, I am a big guy and there isnt much room, is there a trick?
 
You have to get between / underneath the motors where you can barely reach the filters but you can't see them. You will know that it is off when the oil runs down your arm and drips off of your elbow. Another sign that the filter is off is when the oil wrench falls and breaks the bulb on your lead light.

To put it back on, try to remember where it came off. After about twenty minutes of tearing your arms to shreds, work yourself out of the oil, sludge, and waste water infested bilge and drink three beers. Come back tomarrow and try again. Good luck.

I think they designed it so you have to separate the upper deck from the hull and put it all back together once or twice a year. Who said front wheel drive compact cars were difficult to work on?

Not as bad, but still not looking forward to changing the oil on my 32 Montego in the near future!

If it were me I'd have remote filter kits installed. An adaptor and a few feet of hose and you can put the filters wherever you want them.

Had them on my Vpyager before my repower.

I just saw on a boating show up here on a way to get less mess. They took a plastic bag that fit over the filter then poked a hole in the bottom of the filter. Drained the oil into the bag and then removed the filter! I have a santego and I've always had a mess to clean up but this way should work great!

If you do it that way, I suggest a turn or two on the filter first to make sure if will come off easily before you punch a hole in it.

But I prefer just getting a bag big enough to put the filter into and when you unscrew the filter, everything (filter and oil) is in the bag.
