I have been getting water in my shower bilge for the past week or so now...since it was put in water one time the engine bilge water got high and since i fixed the float it has been fine...any common issues to make this small sump fill everyday....thanks

The shower bilge is also your a/c condensation drain under the center of the floor in front of your bathroom door. lift the carpet up and you will see a pump in it it could have a crack in the hose and not letting the water go overboard. the out side hole that it discharges from is to high just to let water splash in unless its a big wave. the hose outlet should be right behind the toilet. and for the boot in the outdrive if it where bad and the shower sump was wet from that the you have a sub now.
Hope this helps my boat is also a 1983 sundancer

You can eliminate the problem with a shower sump box. You can plumb the A/C outlet and shower outlet into the box which has a self contained pump. It can then be pumped out through the hull with a through outlet. Cost is about $150 for the sump plus your time and hose costs. I have a 87 EC and the shower water goes into the bilge and stinks. You can also check your shafts too. I have dripless shafts but have a bit of a drip. This can be cleaned with a piece of 600 grit sandpaper. Pull back the shaft cover and insert the sand paper in the link and put in gear. You will get water coming into the bilge while pulling the seal back. No big deal.
