ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS - Officials from the U.S. Coast Guard said two victims were rescued from the water after two boats, each with two people aboard, collided in Sandy Hook Bay off of Spermaceti Cove shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday.
The smaller of the two boats capsized leaving its two passengers in the water. Both were pulled from the water by the commercial salvaging company Tow Boat U.S., according to coast guard officials.
One person was flown by medevac Northstar to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune and the second person was taken there by Leonardo First Aid Squad, according to Chief Tom Hayden of Atlantic Highlands First Aid Squad.
