2001, 1800 LSR trim malfunction

Periodically the trim for my volvo penta outdrive dose not function. I can hear the solenoid clicking but the pump does not engage. Any ideas?

Same boat, same issue. It happened only twice since buying the boat last year. I think its the solenoids (I have yet to replace them).

Same boat (2002), same issue. IF it happens on the water, have someone control the trim up or down and at the same time tap the side of the solonoid. The brush are stuck and this sometime gets it working again.

I replace my about every 2 years, due to the long periods that the boat sits in storage. I now carry a spare.

I just found the time to fix it today. The connection between the trim motor and the elect. supply was corroded. I just installed a new, water proof connection and it works great.
