Head odors/boat stinks. Venting from holding tank appears to be the 2" port line that would also serve as overboard discharge if obd option was installed. There may be another vent on starboard side but I cannot find one. Toilet is a Jabsco Electric Conversion. Cannot determine if there is a vented loop from bowl to holding tank. Tank is right at or partially below waterline. Bowl is above waterline. Any 3260 owners out there who can tell me how their system is plumbed/configured?

Ben;

easy fix to your troubles, install a vent line filter. they are available from westmarine or other retailer. it will clean up the smell coming from the holding tank. if the water coming in to your toilet is fresh water from your boat, the only other culprit can be the waste line from the toilet to the tank is permeated and needs to be changed out. at the age of the boat I doubt this is the case.

if you install the vent line filter, make sure you do not get solids into the filter by over filling the tank or running a discharge line out the vent loop.

good luck

Ben,
On my 322 the holding tank was located under the aft cusion in the mid cabin. I hd some odour and found that the holding tank level sensor was loose and with each flush, the tank was venting itself into the aft cabin. I tightened this up and the odours went away. Perhaps there is something loose under the access hatch? (held down by a million screws on the 322)

Also, I switched to Head-O-Matic blue crystals and also used their Shock product and all odour vanished from even the vent. There are others that work as well but perhaps a new chemical in the talk could help too, especially a shock-type treatment.
