I'm in need of any info regarding performance, fuel consumption, mechanical quirks on a 2003 Carver 36 AC. My dealer is providing this boat as a loaner while our Sea Ray is out of commision with a transmission repair. We were planning to take her on a week-long cruise here in Maine and need to do some advance planning based on the data requested above.
Thanks,
Mainiac

Forgot to add she has merc 8.1 horizions with a 200 gal fuel capacity.

I don't know the quirks of your boat, but check out the "Useful Factory Info" thread on this forum for more on your model...

I have a 2001 Carver Motoryacht 356 with 6.2 Mercs. At 3200 rpms I figure about 20 gal. an hour per motor. Although I hold about 300 gallons, it is the only thing I am disappointed about with the boat. I would not figure on more than 4 hours running time. Good luck and have fun. Billy K.

I've got the same boat...down to the engines...purchased this spring from what I suspect is your dealer...Port Harbor. This past weekend I ran 4 hours at 3300 rpm and used ~180 gallons. I had 6 people, 70 gallons water and 196 gallons of gas at the beginning of the trip, supplies for a 3-day weekend, and calm seas. The Power and Motor Yacht testing data on an identically powered, similar weight Carver 346 says 34 gph at 3500 rpm(though with 100 gallons fuel, 50 gallons water, 3 people, and 100 lb gear). At 3500 rpm the 346 got .87 mpg, .90 at 2000 rpm. Btw, we loved our time on Casco Bay and look forward to getting back there. The boat's home port is now in Narragansett Bay.

Thanks for the great information; exactly what I needed. It surprizes me how small the feul tank is on such a large boat. Looks like we'll be spending some time at the gas dock on our cruise.
