OK, we have most storage issues resolved on our new 2665 but we are still looking for a solution to storing the fenders somewhere where they can be easily retieved. Currently they are in the swim platform storage compartment.

Where are you guys storing your fenders?

Does anyone have fender racks for the bow rails and if so, how do you like them?

Thanks for the advice!

Boat safe,
Rob

Swept Away,
On our 255 we store fenders on the bow rails. It does affect visibility, I find myself looking around them quite a bit. Also, they are not convenient to get at while single-handling. I've been thinking about a better location for them but haven't come up with anything yet. Maybe in the ER? Swim Platform? I'm curious what other ideas people have.

My previous boat was a 2665. I found the swim platform the best location for storing fenders.

We are still looking at a "best practice" place for our fenders on our #2265. We looked a fender mount for the bow rail, but what was available from west marine / boaters world would'nt work without chafing the fiberglass of the bow (I think the rail mount is meant for bow rails that are much higher. Currently we tie (2) off the bow and store (2) in the platform.... A tight squeeze with the shore cord stored there... also we have a 2nd cooler strapped down on the starboard side - I might end-up making a custom fender rack - another spring project!

Sorry guys, was a bit fast with pussing the button. Now with some text. Here you see my solution for the fender storage. Actually it was done by my local Regal dealer, who found this fenderstorage and customized it for the 2665. And he did it for free! When we are boating we also have some fenders on the cough "backstage" so it is easier when in a locker etc.
Success!

We leave our fenders in place and pull them back with a piece of sash cord before going on plane.

The aft ones we bring up onto the swim platform while under way and put them down when we are not running.
Not very pretty but very practicable.

We run with 4 fenders on each side of the boat.

We keep ours in the swim platform, works fine for us.

I think there are some fenders in this picture. lol We keep ours on rail racks but they are a kind of a pain to get to and hinder visability somewhat.

If I were you, I would keep those fenders closer to you in case of an emergency you can easily grab them.
