3607 name plates

Hey guys, any Ideals how the name plates are installed on a 87'A.C , and has anyone tried to restore them, such chrome plating them ?

I am think of doing the same on my 3207. The carver plate looks like it is held on by two screws. The 32 I think is put on with dbl sided tape or some type of adhesive.

I am looking to have them plated. Either chrome or gold with the background in black like before.

I am looking into local places as well as sending them out. When I get some pricing back I can post.

Please as with the previous post if anyone has some leads on plateing let us know

I too have a 3207 - 1984 and need 2 Carver nameplates. I saw a set for sale on the Carver Yacht website, but not vintage 1984ish.

The silver om mine had worn off and the black was faded. I couldn't figure out how to get them off so I bought some black and silver paint. My 15 year old daughter, who obviously has more artistic skills than me, painted them on the boat and they look great.

To get the plastic nameplate off the boat - I took fishing line and went back and forth pulling toward the stern. It was very easy and was effective in dislodgeding the adhesive from the fibreglass. Now, if I could just find 2 more!!

I found a place that with restore these using Vacuum Metalizing with is Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) Below is their quote. Hope this helps anyone.

To strip, plate, detail the black. Double clear coat using Automotive Exterior clear.

Carver Boat Name Plate:
3 ½ X 9 $ 55.00 each
3 ½ X 17 ½ $ 65.00 each
I would recommend having us remove the old plating.

On our 3807, pulled the nameplates, put them on a buffing wheel and then repainted the black sections. They look great. In terms of finding replacements, good luck. I tried for months to find something and then went with the resto option instead.

I asked my Carver dealer to tell me what I could buy in the way of parts, name plates, etc. The only thing available for the '84 3207 was the NMMA certification plate at the coat of $40. I guess I'll have to go to the after-market to spruce things up. I might get the logo from 'google images' and get a local guy to replicate my old plate including '32'.

My 1983 3207 has decals, not metal plates for the "32" on the sides but I wouldn't mind replacing them with plates instead. If your local guy gives you a price break on quantity at all, if you want to split the set-up charge for example and have him make four instead of two, please let me know. If the price is in the ballpark I'd be happy to go in with you, maybe save us both a few bucks.

Now if I can just find replacement aluminum dash control panels...

Yes - I would be very interested to find replacement dash panels on the 3207 flybridge. Mine are all faded and un-readable! I wonder how one would replicate these?
