42 Sea Ray cruise speed

3 days is pushing it hard, I would think 4 as I'd be surprised if he made more than 16-17 knots with that boat.
 
My dock neighbor has the same setup. 16-17 knots is about right. He doesn't have meters, but I'd guess the burn is closer to mid-30's per hour.

My other neighbor has that boat with small diesels and his is equipped with the heavy aft deck enclosure. It's not any faster than the gasser.

My thoughts exactly! Billy, you're unhappy with 24 knots at only 34 gph?! I have to wonder about your expectations. BTW, my neighbor with the diesel AC paid $25,000 this winter to rebuild his starboard engine. There are no free lunches in big planing boats.
