Need voltage requirements of 48" florescent lights behind valances in salon.

Ron

Stick a volt meter on them.

Or easier yet, what's the voltage of the breaker that feeds the lights?

Probably 120v. Which breaker controls them?

1987 Carver 3807. Blue and black leads from 12 volt panel feeds lights. We can find power from panel to switch. From switch to light is dead. Ground not complete. Are the bulbs regular 48" 120 volt and the fixture converts or are bulbs 12 volt? No power to ceiling puck lights either. Rest of the boat power up fine. We have removed interior wall coverings and counter tops. Now starting to reassemble. No more mauve colors.

I had the exact boat and all the fluorescent fixtures work on the boat's 12 volt circuit.
If I'm not mistaken, all replacement bulbs are the same. They will work on either a 12V or 110V circuit. When they are put in a 110V fixture, the ballast drops the voltage down to 12V. The few times I bought replacement bulbs, I got them at the hardware, not a marine or RV store.

Sounds like you've got a bad switch.

You need to match the bulbs to the ballast. I had kitchen lights that kept burning out because the were the wrong ones for the ballast. Didn't figure it out until the ballast went out and I had to replace it.
