65 degrees today so we went out for a cruise. On the way back in the starboard oil pressure guage drop, bounced back up, dropped and then the warning buzzer came on. I opened the hatch and could see oil spraying from the top mounted oil filter area. RThe wife rn into the cabin and shut down the engine.

The brass fitting on the end of one of the 2 hoses going into the oil filter had a leak. Our mechanice told us 2 days prior he saw the leak but it was OK to boat anyway, just get them replaced soon.

I let her sit for 30 minutes or so, checked the dipostick and there is still a small amount of oil in the pan, not much though. We only have 6 hours on the engines so I am hoping there is no damage.

The question is where does one get these hoses? I unscrewed the oil filter end, then followed the hose to the engine end. I see a silver U shaped tubed that goes into the engine. I cannot tell if the hose and tube are one piece or if the tube bolts to the hose. 1995 Merc 7.4s, top mounted oil filters, where can I get new hoses? How do I know if we have damaged the engine? Replace the hose, replace the filter, fill her back up with oil and wait to see?
