Does anyone pour AF down the cockpit drains. Mine seem to always have some water in them. I poured some leftover pink AF down the one farthest away from the actual drain opening and clear water came out from the drain opening. I was thinking some cheap blue windshield AF.

In my case, my boat will be covered this coming week, so once its covered, I can pour some AF down the drains and hopefully it will stay there until spring.

I don't pour it down my drains but I let enough pink run from the faucets to replace the standing water in the drains with antifreeze. I don't worry about my scuppers.

I pour some in all the drains. I have a couple that have long-ish runs inside the boat with several turns and unions. AF doesn't cost much vs. a cracked pipe in time and materials.

dont you have to do this after each rain?

Depends on if the boat is open or closed. Mine doesn't have drains where rain is likely to enter. I'd think the best policy would be to cover the boat to prevent / snow from getting in.

My boat has metal covers over the cockpit drains and until I removed one I always thought all the water drained overboard. Now I think some water stays in the drain hose for the cockpit drain. I may just pour down some cheap blue WW antifreeze after I cover the boat.
