Are any folks slip holders there? I was considering purchasing a slip there, but was unaware of any others in Balt. that sold slips. Since we can go to the boat anytime, once it arrives, having it here in Annapolis isn't as important.Slip fee for the new one will be 12K/yr., and I think I can do better moving out of town.
I have stayed there once, and it was OK, but could have been cleaner. Also as a slip holder , do they allow any over-hang. New boat is 52loa, and they offer 50ft slips and 60ft. and no use paying for the extra 8 ft.
Thanks for any info..

There was a public Yahoo group for the marina, (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AnchMar/)

Check it out and see what the slip holders/ owners have to say

Seemed like a nice place. Also seemed to be a number of people 'concerned' about how it's managed. I overheard a couple of groups consumed with issues regarding the upcoming board election. Ugh, there are few things I dislike more than "organizations". If you rent the slip you can just leave. If you own it you're stuck with the political infighting. For a place with that many slips you can't avoid it. Then there's the question of do you really want to switch from Annapolis to Baltimore? It's a bit of a haul all the way down the Patapsco to the Bay, and it ain't exactly a 'scenic' view.

I rent my slip at Anchorage right now and have also considered buying as of late. To answer your question on length, I think you will need a 60' slip since they do not allow overhang. As for the price, the larger slips 50' and 60' are the cheaper per foot in comparison to the 45' slips. Right around $850 per foot based on current listings. Their are a few concerns around the age of the docks so I recommend talking to the dock manager to get the full scoop the same way you would if you were to buy a townhome and wanted to talk to the HOA manager. The facilities are good and the pool is nice in the summer. The restaurants in the area are top notch. I live 6 blocks from the marina so it works very well for me.

Doug: Thanks for the feedback. They said there was a meeting this past Sat. for election of 2 postions and 10 had their hat in the ring, so someone wants to see it change. We have a slip ready to go for when boat arrives here in Annapolis, however were looking at all the possibilities.
Again Thanks.

Hey Dusty,

Your current boat wouldn't happen to be sitting in downtown Baltimore now, would it?
