I'm looking for a spot to drop the anchor in Rondout Creek for a night or two. I'm hoping for something not too far from the Kingston City docks. Anybody have any recommendations?

Thanks,

You have to go all the way to the end to find a place to anchor. Nothing near the town.

There are two places I know of to anchor all neither are too near the town dock both are well passed and on the south side of the creek. No is just before the last bridge and the other is about 3/4 mile before on the bend. The town dock is very reasonable it may pay to take a slip.

What size boat? There are a few boats moored across from Roundout Yacht Basin. Perhaps you can anchor north or south of them.

Thanks everyone for relpying!

I have a 28' catamaran, with a 3' draft. I have friends who are going to be at the Kingston docks with their boats, but the docks are all booked up for the time they are there, so I was hoping to be able to anchor close by.

I've seen a boat or two anchored across from the city docks on the other side of the creek just west of the bridge, so I was hoping that I could fit in there, or down a little further across from Rondout Yacht basin.

Consider checking availability at the Hudson River Maritime Museum docks, easy walking distance from where your friends will be.

A real good option I have friends that go there all the time.

I believe you need to be a member to stay there but membership is around $25 for the year and $1.50/ft so it is still a great deal.
