Annodes???

I am new to delta boating vs. lake boating and have a question about the annodes. I have a Volvo/Penta drive now. If I were to leave it in a slip in say Suisun or Martinez would I change them to Magnesium or stay with aluminum?

Would this apply to pretty much anywhere in the delta? What about further up the delta, say on the loop or over by Antioch? Since I plan on leaving my boat slipped year round I want to be adequatly protected.
 
I agree with Aluminum. Check to be sure your grounds are all good as well - this has a major effect on corrosion. There are lots of good threads on this subject and it get involved because it has to do with not only your boat, but any near-by boats that might have stray electrical currents around them, and also the ground of the dock itself. I remember the BOC (Bayliner Owners Club) having many in-depth discussions on the subject and you can search that site for some really good info.

I keep my boat slipped at Bethel Island. I have saved my outdrive many times over by having the boat on an air dock. I highly recommend it! I've had mine for more then 7 yrs now.

I agree with Flutter 100% - Air Dock or Hydrohoists are the only way to go! When I had an outdrive boat, I kept it on a hoist and it was the best thing ever. This is a really good time to find one, with it being winter and a bad economy, I bet you could find one for eaisly under $2k, much less than replacing a corroded outdrive and way less than recovering an sunk boat! They really are nice and keep the bottom so clean and nice - well worth every penny! Ask at the marina(s) you are thinking of moving to if someone there has one they are willing to sell or rent monthly. I know several marinas own some and add $25 or so to you monthly rend to use one. If you find one already installed in a marina that is for sale, you save moving and re-installing it which is usually a couple hundred bucks.

This looks great but no where on their website do they discuss price. Any idea how much this costs?

Pacific Boat Center at the Bethel Island Bridge is a distributor; he may have some used ones for sell too. Not all marinas will allow the "hydro hoist" type of lift because holes for large bolts have to be drilled into the dock to install. The Air Dock is secured with dock lines and 4 wood screws to hold down the control box/motor assembly. Very portable and easy to move. Just tow it to your new location!!!

When I purchased mine [new], the price quoted included installation. I actually paid a little less then what I was quoted.
