Yep, with ONE buoy marking a hazard closer to the south shore, everyone who has never been in there before will know to hug the south shore and not go north of the buoy where the wall stretches for 30+'... It should be perfectly safe now.
 
Yet another boat hit the wall today, that marker was placed in the worst possible location and warms no one of anything at all. I had no idea that I know the boater until I approached him to help. I got him off the wall and invited him to raft up for the afternoon. No damage done!

I'm wondering how he hit the wall. I was in the park at low tide the other day and I could see the top of the wall. It looked like the buoy was in front of it towards the entrance. Did he go between the buoy and the park or turn right too soon after passing it.
 
Funny you should ask. I asked him if he saw the buoy and he said of course and he gave it a wide berth but not knowing which side to stay he figured he would just stay far away from it. I guess he had a 50/50 shot at getting thru. He had been there in the past and there was no buoy and somehow he made it in without an issue, I suspect he had the tides in his favor in the past.

The wall was completely covered there was no way for him to see it at that time. He was going slow so he just pushed his bow onto the wall I used a boat hook to make sure his props were clear at least with them up a bit I had him put it in reverse while I pulled him out with the dink once he started to move I had he kill his motors to be safe and pulled him out to a safe spot. He then came and joined us for a cold one and a relaxing afternoon.

I had no idea who it was until I got close to him but it was a customer I have known for over 20+ years and consider him a friend. He is a nice guy but still has a bit to learn about boating. I may have to take him out and give him a few pointers he could use a few lessons as so many new boaters could as well.
