Anyone remember an article talking about mixing windshield washer fluid with antifreeze? What would be the benifit?

I don't think it was about mixing windshield washer fluid with anti-freeze...I think the discussion was that you could use windhield washer fluid in place of anti-freeze for a quick/cheap/temporary winterization - ie the first couple of cold snaps in late fall, but you still want to use the boat afteward. In hard freeze climates, there is no replacement for anti-freeze.

been doing it that way for few years. 1 gal anti-1 gal 20 below ww . mix for how much u need in another bucket. never been a problem
benefit is much lower freeze point than mixing with water.

full strength type no particular brand. whatever u might prefer..
