Hi guys/gals,

Charles at Mahopac Marina asked me to post this, in hopes that somebody in the local area knows a mechanic, preferably with at least some Marine experience, that needs a job starting around March 1...

He's willing to train somebody in the Marina's specific needs, but would like the person to have some decent experience so they're not starting from scratch...

Duties would involve service of engines, onboard systems, and trailers for boats generally ranging from 18-32 feet...

I don't know what the salary would be - the person can work that out with Charles...

Anyway, if you know anybody looking for work these days, perhaps it could be a good opportunity for them. With this economy there's gotta be someone out there who needs a job...

Interested parties can email me, or contact the marina directly at sales "at" mahopacmarina.com, or call Charles on his cell phone at 914-403-5686...

A mechanic worth his salt has plenty of work. You might try BOCES in Yorktown or Valhalla to see if you can get someone with interest and a work ethic (a rare combination among adolecents). A student in small engine repair or auto shop will have a good background in mechanics, the hard job is getting them to believe they have a future beyond the next 24 hours. How about trying Mahopac HS, you could have a candidate in your backyard! Pretend its a piece of clay and mold him into the employee you really want to have.

Good suggestions, George. Charles figures he's going to have to do that but he was hoping that perhaps there's someone with at least a little marine experience that is out of work thanks to all the tightness in the marine industry these days...

Unfortunately it looks like its all the SALESMEN who are out of work, not the mechanics!!!
