Today we had a high of 63. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 67. I'm sorry I pulled my boat out last week.

Anybody still out there cruising Lake Michigan?

Not me. Pulled, winterized, washed, and put to bed. :(

Hi Mike,

I hate to say it, but we hauled out last week too.. truth be known, we could have stayed in last year until December.. but who would have known that in advance?? It's time.. sad to say, but it's time.. note that that the nice days are falling during the work week - naturally... the admiral already has other non-boating activities planned.. like shopping, shopping and more shopping.. for me, it's fall leave clean up time - no more gutters since we had them covered this spring. Getting too old to keep climbing way up there!!!

Boating in the Midwest can just break your heart. Here it is the end of October and it's some of the nicest weather we've had over the last several weeks.

Mine's still in the water, but not in her dock...she's waiting for another boat to come in for storage so she can be stored in front of it

Mine has been on the hard for a couple of weeks. Did notice a few sail craft off South Haven last weekend. Encounter a problem with a power boat, and it's slim pickings as far as finding help. I recall a few years ago there was a 1 or 2 day warm spell in February. Saw a boat leave South Haven headed for Chicago about 4 in the afternoon. That time of year there's no one on the water, and you'd have to duck any ice floats out there. Couldn't believe my eyes!

I'm just not as adventurous at my age as I was in my 20's and 30'. Back then, sailing from S. Haven to Chicago in February would of been a blast.

I work in Downtown Milwaukee and have the pleasure of walking the lakefront almost every day. There's still a few hardy souls out there working their sails.
