Hey Everyone,

Relatively new boater here, with a 2000 Chaparral 270 Signature...It has two type 24 Marine Batteries, in the middle of my first season with it last year, the batteries seemed to be working great no problems, then I got to the boat one day and my wife (lol, I'll blame her) left something on and didn't leave the shore power connection on, they were dead on arrival..... I turned on the shore power and Battery Charger, and it took about 6-8 hours to get them to the point of being able to start them.....Is this normal???? Secondarily the Battery Charger had a needle that kept bouncing from 0v to 13v but didn't seem to stay constant...Is that normal? Is it time to replace the battery charger and if so what type? I've also been thinking of just trashing the batteries and getting two type 27 AGM....Any thoughts????
