Just finishing up the details on my winter dash project. Added and flush mounted a chartplotter and fishfinder, new switches, etc.
My current setup uses 2 batteries, hooked up through a Guest batt switch. No isolater, I usually run off batt #1 for 1/2 the day, then switch over to #2 for the second half and the trip back to the dock.
Never any problems with the way it is. Now that I added the chartplotter, what I'm concerned about is a surge to the electronics every time I start the boat. A typical day drift fishing has me start/stop the boat 25-30 times. Turning everything off everytime I start the boat would be a total pain in the a$$.
Any suggestions or places I can find a wiring diagram would be helpful. As always thanks for any info.
