Today, the Admiral and I took a trip up to the mouth of the Petaluma river, and instead of heading upstream, decided the tides were right to explore the entrance to Bel Marin Keys.
The charts showed Novato Creek at 2', and our 32' draws 3', but it was almost at high tide, so I figured we could take a quick look.
We crossed paths with a small boat on their way out, and asked about depths, and they said that there was a good 6-7' all the way in (to the lock.)
I kept a good look on the depth gauge, but we made it all the way in (I was ready to turn around if it got too narrow!)
After returning, I looked up and found a link, seems it's been recently dredged.
