I know they all suck compared to a holding tank system, but it is what it is, and I'd like any opinions.

I've had good success with the ones sold by Sears Roebuck, in their camping department. They're made by Thetford. Thetford is the biggest name in RV toilets, and for what they are, they're as good as any.

I have a Thetford that I use after we winterize our regular head system. I got the deluxe model with a push button flush. Takes a bunch of double A’s and it works great. Has a bit of a larger seat that some of the other brands. Not by much though. Check out their web site.

I like the type with the swing out spout for emptying.

My Sears Roebuck (Thetford) has the swing-out spout, and it helps a lot when emptying it - less mess!
