Homes Burning on Bethel Island

(KGO) (9/8/08) Contra Costa County fire crews are battling a blaze that's burning on Bethel Island in the Delta.
Three homes on Taylor Road have burned in the three-alarm fire, along with some brush in the area.
It's not clear what started the fire, or if other homes are threatened.
One person has been treated for breathing problems because of smoke from the fire.

I heard around 6:30 that it was going to a 4-alarm but haven't heard any more.

Flutterby & others ... any impact to you?
 
Thanks for the heads up Brian that is on the other side of the island from where my boat is in dry storage. According to the CoCo Times article this morning sounds like it was pretty serious and a sad outcome for a couple that just came home from a chemo appointment.

This is the first I am hearing of the fire! I spoke to my harbormaster this morning about my boat and he did not mention the fire, so I am certain there was no impact on the Piper Slu side of the island! However, I have several friends who live on Taylor, so I'll have to make some inquiries....

BTW, DeltaDog, your link doesn't seem to work. I search CC Times and will post the link if I find it!
