Boating Season Has Begun!

Ya after 6 and a half hours...It now goes woshhhhh....

Also tried getting into bowline...Something seems to be in the middle of the channel at the entrance. Could see it breaking water. Did not want to risk it, will have to wait till we get the jet ski in to go over and check it out...

Probably another big submurged log or worse stuck in the middle again !

I wish I never advised anyone to go in there, I'd feel pretty bad if someone damaged thier boat or worse , so listen to the GOV. , and do not attempt it for safty's sake. I should have known better it was a mistake, I apologize for it.
best wishes- Jon.

Didn't somebody land a plane in there a few years back???

Pete;

They "crash-landed" a plane in the hole. A small ultra-light that had a parachute built in to the tail section. It was a sight.

Hey Butch, I was going to say.. That's a pretty sh&%$ty situation, you were involved in..

It was actually a plane with a parachute built in...I forget the model. Pilot had engine problems and dropped her in. Ruined the 4th of July fire works. Had to sit outside to watch them. Water stunk of aviation fuel for a couple of weeks..

Yes Russ, it was....Now all flows well....

Still have no access to the NBR forum ? Jon

jon, I sent Les an email, let me know if he gets you in.

Hogan , thanks again -let you know.

Hope i'm not bieng too impatient , I really like this site and wish I found it sooner I was suprized to see how long some of you have been here. Cool way to meet the neighbors...

Best whishes - Jon.

Thank Les, he's the one with control. See you in NBR

THANKS-LES ,

GREAT SITE, lotsa fun too

Jon

Welcome aboard, Jon :) !!!

Butch, that's right - I remember the parachute incident. See, if the guy had crashed and blown up there wouldn't have been all that messy oil on the water. How inconsiderate of him ;) !!!

Thank-you Pete
It's nice to be welcomed, im sure our wakes will cross this year since Roundout is one of my favorite haunts on the river , mabey I will get to put a face to thoes shoes(that picture cracks me up).
I'll be heading up your way the end of this week (sorta) to pine hill to bring the boat down, hope it warms-up there , the property is over 2000ft. elev. and it's like a different climate zone there . brrrr!

You were right Hogan it's another world there on the NBR ! If I wanted to read about that much complaining, I guess I will just stick to Bernadettes honey do list. Think i'll be stickin to the HRCC before I get myself into trouble over there. LOL

best whishes,Jon F.

Thats good, now we just have to wait for the beginers who went in to early to use up all the stale gas before us vets. get in.

Jon.

Jon;

Most of us "beginners" are sitting on 200 gal or more, so you "vets" just keep sitting and waiting.

:)

And by the time the 'vets' get it, it will be $5.00/gallon

Well than I may have to top off at the gas station up the hill when I haul down this comming mon. while I let you rookies burn off whats left over from last year in the big white tank for me :)

I think I still have $2.75 gas left in the boat from 2003...should get a couple of more seasons out of my half a tank...maybe gas will be more affordable then? Who knows!
