Hi everyone,

I'm heading down to Boca next week for a wedding. Staying at the Boca Rotan Resort. It's on the ICW and they have a marina. I was thinking of renting a boat for the day to do some cruising down the ICW. Any points of interest I should see? Any other local knowledge I should be aware of?

I'm also doing an Eco-Kayak tour through a mangrove forest, is anyone familar with this trip? I would also be intersted in any other area attractions.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hey Bob
Not all that familiar with the area.My home port is a little farther south, dania beach. But i do know they have boca lake where alot of people anchor up for the day. There is all so Red reef park.Witch has a nice shallow reef to snorkle. There is also just a little bit south. AT Hillboro inlet, there is light house with a little beach.People also anchor out in the cove just across the inlet.Verey popular spot.Hope you injoy your time down here.

The Cove resturant on the ICW has Island Music Sunday afternoons. Just a short ways South of the Boca Hotel, South side of Hilsboro Bridge.
If you plan on renting a boat, better check for rental locations.

Thanks for the replies gentleman. They rent the boats at the hotel marina so i should be good but thanks for the contact I can compare prices .

If you plan to boat from the marina at the hotel and raft up in Lake Boca, your trip should last all of 30 seconds (the marina is on the west side of Lake Boca)... :-)

For a decent day trip, go north for the home sightseeing...much better than going south (except for the area just south of The Cove...you'll be able to get up close and personal with a few 150'+ megayachts, including my old boss "Gallant Lady"). Going north you can enjoy sightseeing through Delray Beach and further up a few miles you can tie up at Banana Boat or Two Georges in Boynton Beach...both good fun in the afternoons with live music on the weekends...

Tis true, if you venture further up north towards Boynton Beach
You will come to two Good & fun places for lunch, Banana Boat (Live music on the Weekends) and Two Georges Restaurant.. After lunch you can proceed 2 clicks up the ICW at the Boynton Beach Inlet and tie up at the long day Pier ,it has a Ocean Beach and a Park with bathrooms, out door showers and a concession stand ...
POI if you decide to party their you must enter it through the approach towards the Inlet bridge as the other OLD entrance from the ICW is shoaled and no longer good.
It is a nice clean Park with Life Guards and Marine Police.
I always tie up there when I take the Little folks to the Beach. Hey,Enjoy your selfs and have fun.

Thanks for the info, taking a boat out tomorrow. Today we hit the beach Instinctively I would of went South, so good info! I'll keep an eye out for the Gallant Lady and we'll also look for the the Banana Boat. Thanks again guys!
