I plan to replace the shift cable today on my bravo 3. Mercruiser makes two tools, basically measuring devices for each end. 91-17262 & 91-17263 are the part numbers I'm seeing.
I don't have these tools, and don.t want to spend thirty bucks on something I probably won't need again for 20 years.
But I can't seem to find the lengths anywhere, that would allow me to make the same measurements, manually. One tool holds the aft end out the back of the drive an inch or so, and the other tool measures the distance at the shift plate, between the вЂbarrel' and the end. By any chance does anyone have the specs for these two measurements? Thanks.
