re: genset fuel selector....is this in the engine compartment?

re: helm seat - man, we can't stand up and drive...the seat is pushed all the way back but if you want to look out over the windshield while underway, can't stand in front of the steering wheel! thoughts? advice?

re: vacuflush head - was surprised to learn that it pulls water from the fresh water tank, could this put a damper on our "days at anchor" plans? also, is it normal for it to make a ton of noise for awhile after the toilet is flushed?

Hello - I'll try to help:

-On my '99 Mariner 350 the genset fuel selector valve is in the engine comparment, it's mounted right below (or by) the hinge for the center access hatch. It's a little to the starboard side.

-Helm seat - I can stand up and drive (6' tall with quite large buddha belly)...maybe your bimini top is too low (as in not tall enough)...BTW - my wheel tilts, you might try to adjust the tilt, I keep my wheel vertical.

-Head - yes, mine pulls from the freshwater tank - I only let my wife and other gals use it in times of need (I've used it 2 or 3 times)...usually we're floating in the water anyway. The noise is probably the vacuum pump...after each flush it regenerates the vacuum...it's not all that loud on mine with all the hatches closed....probably takes 10 seconds or so.

Thanks, that is very helpful....the issue with stand-up driving isn't the bimini, just that the steering wheel is too close to your body and the seat is right up behind your knees. Talking to the captain tonight I think we'll try putting sometihng on our seat so you can "sit high" instead of standing
