Burlington VT from Haverstraw

And how much would it cost to put the family on a plane and spend a week at a resort somewhere? Now add in the value of quality time on the boat and to me the answer is clearly spend the money on fuel!

"I can't seem to justify the trip."

THAT's your problem, Dan! You should NEVER try to justify taking a boat trip. Its kinda like back in High School when the captain of the cheerleader squad says she wants you right now (yeah, right!) . Just do it :D !!!

PS - Dan, since we hadn't heard from you in awhile, I saved a bunch of literature from the White Plains show on upstate travel and tourism for you. If you'd like it, send me an email or PM with your address and I'll send it on over to you compliments of Charlie Melchner...

Can't help it--off subject-but speaking of gas prices. We're in Englewood Fl for a while. Gassed up my sons 18' center console this week for $3.25 per gallon at the dock. Filled the car at street price of $3.339. Go figure.
Santigo--If you happen to decide to make the trip after all,you may be better off docking in Burlington and renting a car for the trip up to the Islands.
As for financially justifying being on the water, I would still have my Montgomery Ward(used) 14 footer with the 25 year old Evenrude I started out with 35 years ago!
