I've aquired a '95 bayliner capri 20 ft ,with a 5.7 , sat for a while . I pulled the engine through by hand it turns. .the throttle lever isn't there so I jumped the saftey switches . I put the battery in and when I turn the key the fuse blows going to the ignition switch .
I checked all of the connections and continuity per the wiring diagram and they seem ok.
when I jump across the main relay she cranks but doesn't start ,I"m getting fuel, but no spark from the coil,no 12volts at the + side of coil either. I'm thinking its got to be something simple .one thing I do know is it's not the original engine ,original was smaller ,I think the wiring should be the same but not absolutly sure. Can anyone suggest a way to bypass everthing I need to so I can get it started and make sure it runs before I sink money into it.
I gave 300 bucks for the thing , I'm sure the trailer is worth that!
