OOOO...my heart aches for you with all the problems you've had. A machine shop that you can trust is one of the hardest thins you can find. The best machinest in the area moved out of the area. My best machine shop closed a few years back.
Thinking about it, a way you can check the type of work they do, bring and 'Inside Gauge' to check the bore of a block they've done. It HAS to be dead even the whole length of the cylinder
Thanks Charlie - I found a pair of 502s I plan to have refreshed and start over with some decent reliable power. Hone, deck, and maybe some head work....nothing too radical. There has to be a decent speed shop around here somewhere?
