I started pricing out some canvas work. I am looking for a basic cockpit cover, from the windshield to the transom and then a bimini top. I want the top to sit like a radar arch when not in use.

I know use AMC, which I probably will.

I have gotten prices close to $2000 for this job. Has canvas work gone up that much??

I am paying $6K for all new canvas top, new sunpad cover, all new EZ2CY and Strata.
So I think so.
There was a large price increase last year and I was told by Tony I beat the increase becuase he bought a roll of my color before.

$2K sounds cheap!

$2000 is cheap. I do my own canvas work that's how I know.

$65 per foot of canvas I was quoted per length. I have 13ft from windshield to transom. Thats $845

Figure a 6ft bimini $390.

That means $765 in frame work???

AMC told me those prices included labor and everything.

Stainless frame, bending, fitting, pieceing together.
Go to store, just a stainless pin can cost $30.

I think you got a cheap price in my eyes.

Are your snaps stamped with a name/logo? Ours say "Great Lakes" and it turns out they have patterns for Sea Rays going about 20 years back. They aren't cheap, but I can order OEM-fit bimini top and cockpit cover replacements at a far lower price than a custom shop is willing to make them.

I just had a and b upholstery in Baldwin do a convertible top on my jag. They also do marine and did great work

MATT,
Frank and Tony rb2@gr5t AMC do amazing work. U wont be disappointed. Im not the easiest guy to please and i see some of the hack jobs other canvas guys do. They will never disappoint.

Btw. I tried calling Dean to get a quote. Im
A few blocks away from his physical address. Cant get in touch with him

Pay Dean a visit. I know hes probably SLAMMED like everyone else with all this bad weather . ( He is a great guy and i rarely say that about anyone. )

AMC is amazing....They have done ALL my boats from all new canvas to just repairs......never had any issues.

My last Sea Ray was a 1995 and it had TEAL canvas. I wanted to do the entire top/drop over. Tony told me he checked all his suppliers and could not get that color any longer. I was on a mission to keep the TEAL color because of all the coordinated color in the rest of the boat.

I found a FULL roll of Sunbrella Teal canvas on e-Bay and bought it. Took the roll to Tony and he had no problem doing the job using my fabric. It was like taking 1/2 dozen eggs to a diner and asking the chef to make me an omelette.... but he had no issues......and did an outstanding job.

Amazing place...........

Finally got a hold of Dean from Wave and Wheels. Said he was near my house would check on the boat and get back to me. Never heard back from him....

we shall see
