Carver 53Voyager,the good,the bad & i hope noUgly!

A full lexan enclosure would be a nice addition to that boat. A good canvas guy will know how to use 30GA lexan to curve windows and eliminate frames at corners. I added a peak awning or hat bill to the front of my enclosure to provide shade when driving. Weblon top provides different inside and out color options. I chose white on the outside for less solar heating and light grey inside to reduce glare on the instruments. Smilies in the front windows provide ventilation when I didn't want the windows fully open because of rain. The hat bill awning kept the smilies dry. My PIX are trapped in photobucket otherwise I would repost them.

Have fun!!

i found an enclosure pix. if you send your latest email I'll send it.

Bruce, Thx for the detailed info. I know it comes from real experience.
But if this boat is anything like my last Cruises I’ll most likely take all the bridge canvas down and cover the bridge with ether a mooring type cover or canvas covering the Helm as well as the seating. I’ll keep the Bimini but only open it when needed. One of the reason im liking this boat is that it’s a pilothouse and I hoping to run it from the lower helm most of the time. Some of the existing canvas looks relatively new so I may just store it. I’m hoping that like my 5000 Sedan, once all the canvas off it will help cutting down on windage. Plus full canvas for this puppy ant cheep

That being said I might have some canvas work done in the cockpit area

You are welcome Andy. In this area many operators with up and down helms run up top when inshore most of the time because of better visibility.
