So I got my permit and I couldn't believe the kool aid they tried to pour down my throat. Cedar looks to be turning into a bad version of FI. The person in the office actually got mad at me for saying most of the new rules were just dumb.....can anyone summarize the new "don't'" this year? Almost seems like going on the hook is a better option...

Wonder why they have new rules? New regime or past problems?

MAYBE the old regime was on the take ??? :)

LAst year i pulled into cedar probably about this time. Place was empty. Had my mother n law on board. Just wanted to eat lunch on the boat and leave . Dock master flags me off as im pulling in . U cant tie up ur not a non resident and walks away. Wife repeats the story to me as i couldn't hear ... I politely called the kid over ... he completely ignored me . Turned and said new rules no non residents period. never lost a step and kept walking. I continued to back into the slip and wife begged me not to get offthe boat.

They can go screw.... As the already diminishing income continues to drop .... the residents will be slammed with the bill !

Cant fix stupid

That's when you offer him some $$$ ..........works wonders. He may have tied you stern lines for you. :)

Rules basically state that you Must be resident, no non-resident fee's apparently (I am TOB). 1/2 of the slips are reserved and from what I gather (TOB is terrible at grammar) you MUST reserve slip for entire week. So if I pull in on a Wed and no one is in the slip, I'm not allowed to stay (probably some side law there that wasn't spelled out). I saw, but maybe I missed it, "no alcohol" and "no pets at all" in the little pink "ditto" they sent out but I can't believe that to be true. No leaving your boat overnight unattended.....etc etc...so yes, sounds like the land of "no".

What really got me is the people in to office are so saturated with the BS Kool Aid......just ridiculous.

Please, if anyone thinks I'm way off, let me know, I have no ego, I'd so rather be blowing this out of proportion and be totally wrong......

My brother in law lives in TOB. He said 1/2 the slips will be first come, first served. The other half are reserved and you must pay for the entire week, if you're there or not. I'd be curious as to what day of the week the week starts. Who wants to pull out Sunday morning when it's gonna be 90 and sunny.

Doug,
Ur dead on... ITs not like its a nice place... it was just a place. just more of a taxpayer liability....

Rob

I know people who swear by the place, but to me it was just like pulling into a big parking lot. Sand blowing all over the place. Hot as hell when there was no wind. Bad attitudes from employees and the "residents". Real long walk to the beach. Who needs the place. Do like Rob does and go east.

Anyone that swears by the place hasnt experienced boating. Its a very clicky , very drunken destination. In a bind it was a place to go.

Thats all. Like Billy said its a parking lot. ( literally )

Rob

Ha Ha,
Was going to mention, the "parking lot" gig, but did not want to offend. Personally, Hemlock Cove is the place in that neck of the woods, no dock, but great water and rafting up is always fun. Also it is free!

Walter

God forbid we offend someone ..... what would we do ?

I really think Walters found Religion or something

Rob

Yeah, I agree, I just like the option to go over to the hut and have a place to crash. I'm planning on hanging much more in Hemlock this year....

Looks like more HEMLOCK RAFTUPS for everyone ...

PURCHASE A BOATERED FLAG and display it when on a mooring ... but u never know who might crash ur peace and quiet !

Rob

I love my friend Don, never understood the attraction to asphalt at Cedar Beach. I use to break his chops about this. I guess,it was the group of people you hang there with, hence my backing down on my dumb opinion.
