Cell Phone Service

I tried Verizon first. It was fine in Amador County, but service really was spotty in the Delta where I used my cell phone the most. And there so called "work around" meant calling three different 800# before dialing the number I was calling. That was stupid!

So I went to AT&T and got my prior service reinstalled. It works in most areas of the Delta though Bethel Island can be problematic.

I go out on the boat to relax, therefore I use AT&T so I cannot be reached by cell phone!

P.S. also works great for not receiving call on land... in most locations!!

Location, Location, Location
I had ATT worked great at Oxbow but not at Korth’s Pirates Lair. My wife uses Verizon does not work at Oxbow but o.k. at Korth’s. I just switched to T Mobile which works great at Korth’s and Oxbow but have not had it long enough to check out the rest of our boating areas.

Our AT&T worked ok for us. When we were going to take our Tolly up to the San Juans in 2004, I called a marina in every port we thought we might stay overnight in. Almost every one of them said AT&T gave them the best signal/reception. We switched from someone over to AT&T (can't remember who we had from 1999-2004, but had Sprint from 1982 to 1999. This includes home phone too of course).
