we always scrub the boat when we come back from a salt water trip it hard work to clean it. I can't imagine having to deal with that every week.

As John stated Salt Away will help... But us LICC guys use a hose and water and we are done for salt. As for the actual cleaning, I have many products for each cleaning need.

Due you know of anything for the diesel dirt? it seems to stick to the pro polish like glue any thing I use to clean it take off the polish then I reaply the polish and start again. There must be a better way.

At the risk of beating a dead horse I use Rejex instead of Pro-Polish. The the majority of the soot wipes right off it. For any remaining soot I use Nautical Ease nonskid and black streak remover.

Stop by the boat Victoria Marie on g-dock and ask him about it.

The pro-polish held up great on the hull but the diesel dirt does seem to stick near the exhaust. I'll pick up Rejex and strip the rear and apply if it works I'll but you a beer. I'm tiered of constant scrubbing the back every time I use the boat

Do you just rinse the salt off or do you have to in effect sponge the boat to get the salt off? It's been my experience that simply trying to hose the salt off doesn't get it all.

No beer needed Dave but make sure you read and follow the Rejex directions. It is easy to apply but you have do it on a cool day and not in direct sunlight. Allow 8-12 hours between coats and for your situation the more coats the better, minimum 2 preferably 3 IMO.

There is no sun light in the forecast just rain. I'm going on a trip this week I'll be out of town for about a week it will have to wait until next week. Where did you get the Rejex, Boatfix?

I hear ya about the rain. Glad our vacation was the previous 2 weeks and not this one.

Unfortunately Boatfix does not currently carry Rejex. A google search will work.

A friend of mine with a diesel boat has been using Rejex for ~2 years now and swears by it for ease of removing the diesel soot on the boat.

Dave you can pick up Rejex on the web at e-tackle, located in NH if memory serves me. I spoke to the Rep up there. Very friendly and helpful. He owns a tackle shop.

With Rejex, The shine is there, the diesel soot wipes right off.

Today was one of the best days for Stony Point weather all year. Got back to the marina around 1 PM, cleaned up the boat, took Giggity over to Bowline and hung out with B Dock. What a great way to end the vacation.

Hogan,
I almost beat you home. We left Pilots Point in Westbrook at 8:00am on Sunday and made it home at 1:05pm. I got stuck at Spuyten Duyvil bridge for 5-10 min. Not a bad run, 129 mile in 5 hours.

How was Louies'?

We left around 10:00 AM and stopped for gas at Alpine, $2.80/gallon. I was glad that I left the day before, or it would have been too long of a ride.

Louies was excellent. I had:

One "Lobster Ale"

Clam Chowder

Oysters

"Put the Lime in the Coconut Sea Bass"

Chilean sea bass
lime coconut marinade
sweet plantain macadamia cake
macadamia nuts
ancho coulis

Mmmmmmmmmmmm....

Rommer
That's all we do when we are in Florida, hose the boat down good when we get back in. Two years ago there were severe water restrictions when we were there and washing boats was exempted from the restrictions. The salt is so strong you have to wash it down. We also wash the trailer each time it gets dunked, even up here.

That was the same dinner I had on Memorial Day. I can still taste it.

Call me!

Audrey II, I was also surprised by all the empty (big boat) slips at Brewers Capri in Port Washington. While they still had some nice looking yachts there, it was nothing like two years ago when they were all full.
Milford Landing (the city dock) was very nice. A well maintained facility at the head of the Weepawaug (sp) river and only two blocks to the main street. The town has some nice shops and several good places to eat and the public areas are beautifully manicured and well maintained. My wife loved it. Having said that though, it would not be a final destination for us for just one night. The ride back to City Island on Tuesday (rain and an easterly wind) while not threatening, was uncomfortable, with what I estimated to be 3-4' steep swells. It made spotting the lobster floats very difficult and got the wife to not feeling very well after two hours of roller coaster action.
