Two comments: First, more people may need more crops, but we already export most of what we grow--the USA is foodbasket to the world. More people in CA doesn't mean we need more crops in CA. There are better places to grow crops.
Second, I see we now have "displaced" agricultural workers protesting the limits on irrigation water. Surprise! The world does not exist to give you a job. What do they want? Total species extinction for various sealife so they can work in the Central Valley instead of Missouri? Sorry. With this mentality, the protests of saddlemakers would have stopped the automobile, and the protests of hydraulic mining workers would have kept hydraulic mining going until the Sierras were totally stripped of soil and the Central Valley was totally clogged with mud--not just partially clogged as it is now....
