Crusader thermostat

Where does everyone buy replacement thermostats? I have a 1996 502 c.i. Engine that' takes a 170 degree stat part number r026007. Marine store gets $51.00. I am sure there are their sources for this. Any ideas? I'm in eastern Long Island

Larrys Lighthouse marine in Aquabogue is very reasonably priced and has always had whatever crusader parts I need. Www.marineengineparts.com.

If you can cross it to an automotive part number, and that thermostat is stainless steel, you can use it in your marine engine, even raw water cooled. Stant's "Super Stat" is an example of a qualifying item. NAPA stores can work wonders on interchange.

I usually just go ahead and order most of the parts for the blue engines by phone from Crusader's main NE distributor , Engine Distributors, Inc. . (800) 220-2700 . At least that way, using the Crusader parts manual # you have , I can be pretty sure of getting the right part... not just 170* temp but correct whether or not it had bypass feature, purge holes, etc.. But you will probably be fine no matter where you find the desired price point.
