Hi folks,
Any ideas on getting serviced a 6BTA5.9 315HP engine? I need a 500 hrs. service on the boat. Usually take the boat to Bethel Harbor for all work. Their work is excellent but the are not Cummins diesel experts.
Ideas,
Thanks,
Dave

I have had only one major issue with my 5.9's, and after going through 3 different "so called diesel mechanics" I went to a trained Cummins party. From my experience stay with Cummins trained for anything
that is or may be major. It will be alot less heart ache and in the long run cost less

Laissez-Faire,
I have had the same experience. that why I looking for a trained Cummins person. Not many diesel engines in the Ca. Delta. Most are gas.

Dave, good luck, I have been able to find a Cummins tech, that will work for me on the weekends, really
saves alot of money.....think about paying (the right person) mileage.

The mechanic I use is outstanding. Not sure if he's Cummins Trained, but he's been doing this for a number of years and has a reputation for standing behind his work and everyone I know who uses him (including me) sings his praises. The only issue with him is he's just one guy and gets pretty busy. It's sometimes hard to book him, but he really likes doing maintenance/services as he says it's a lot more relaxing for him. Let me know if you're interested, and when I see him (he's based at the marina where I live) I'll ask him about Cummins.

Manticore999, Please do check. If he is interested I can get in contact.
Thanks,
Dave
