Spring is here and we are planning our summer Delta trips.
Does anybody know the situation regarding the hycinths? Are they as bad as last year?
Thanks.

Great question!

I've made a few trips around the Delta from Disco Bay up to Giusti's and back via Frank's Tract recently and it hasn't been bad at all.

But this is still kind of early for them. The dormant ones that sink to the bottom and then rise from the dead will start showing up within the next month or so as the water warms up.

The spraying permits have already been issued, so hopefully they'll get on top of things in a timely manner.

Happy boating! [:-captain]

Arnold,

Some of my all time favorite cruises are up a couple rivers and sloughs that flw into Suisun and San Pablo bays....three in particular. Suisun slough all the way up to Suisun City...good Marina and docking in the middle of town. Secondly, up the Petaluma River all the way to Peteluma with the marina in the middle of town....this is the city where the all time great movie "American Grafitti" was filmed. And third, maybe my favorite, up the Napa River to the town of Napa. Used to be able to tie off in downtown Napa but those docks were closed and you have tie up in the Napa Marina about a mile out of town. Great trip though. Let us know where you end up

DBH,
Thanks for the tips. I might need your help again before we are ready to go.
I like the idea of Suisun and Napa but I heard horror stories of boats (even power boats) getting grounded.
