Here are some shots from our Dinghy Poker run this weekend. It supports a local Cancer charity.
My trusty first mate and gunner:
The helm of our '08 Zodiac ProJet 350:
The troops are gathering:
Entering the Battle Zone:
The mayhem begins:
Enemy combatants with protective gear:
Guerrillas wading in from shore:
Thanks Fire & Rescue for helping out an keeping everything safe and orderly:
Another stop on the crusade:
Quick lunch:
First mate fraternizing with the enemy:
First mate tried to board enemy vessel and missed:
First mate tries to sweet talk her way passed enemy combatant in line for another poker card:
Funniest thing, our fiends who watched our kids while we were gone had a wateballoon slingshot. Which of course was a big hit with my son. They launched at a boat who in turn called 911 (must have gone something like this: Operator: What is the emergency? Caller: I am being attacked by water balloons....)
Anyway, so while Coast Guard, Fire and Rescue and the Voluntary Coasties were everywhere and making sure everything was halfway controlled the County Police stopped by our raft-up to warn them to only fire at Poker Run participants [:-headache] and handed out tickets for not having a sound making device or not enough PFDs [:-eyebrows] to people in the Poker Run. As you can see this is all on a very small creek where you actually can almost everywhere walk to shore.
