it had been a while since we went to Eliott for the week end, what a great spot it is !

the water was cristal clear as usual, we anchored near U. dock, in jsut a little over 4' at low tide. The best time is saturday late afternoon when most boats leave and most larger boats stay anchored further away... felt like it was our private cove, with a still almost full moon rising...

only 12 miles south of miami, and well worth the trip. It is the best anchorage, with the clearest water on this side of the gulf stream... keys included.

on the way back home, we saw two USCG boats (the alum TIB with the square cabin and front/stern machine guns) just west of the Sands Cut sand bar which was packed with hundreds of boats.. they were busy pulling over guys speeding or acting stupid...
