The Kingston Freeman printed an article about the city going after the old Millen's junk yard. It mentioned that Ianucci was in talks with the current owner to purchase this property (like the rest of the property in the area). I believe the article mentioned that the deal fell through. Funny how events transpire.
There were poluters all along the creek. Their waste has been settling in the creek for years in the form of old barges etc. that sit on the bottom. Junk yards were the norm along the shore.
Let's see now. Ianucci is buying up all the property around the creek. All of a sudden a deal falls through and it's time to start in with eminent domain?
I'd really like to see the area take a turn for the positive. I'd like to see a developer come in and clean some of the junk up. I just don't think it's fair to use tact like this to move forward.
