We had a great weekend over in Croton. Went out Saturday and rafted-up with a bunch of friends. Stayed overnight.

Excellent food and drinks, weather was very nice. The kids had a blast tubing & wake boarding.

Hopefully everyone has been getting out boating, it's been pretty quiet on this forum lately.

Mike, I saw you yesterday evening as you were leaving Croton, I was going in to anchor. I waved but you didn't see me. Ended up being close to Al, it was a fantastic evening.

Wife and Kids were completing a week in the Berkshires Friday/Saturday so Sunday was the only boat day.

The GSB was like the old days. With the good weather and the season for some ending in a few weeks, boaters may have had a wakeup call and decided to use some of last years fuel.

for us 30 and unders, cold springs was jammed as well. we had to putt around and wait for a spot on the town dock. beautiful day, great lunch.

Croton was nice on Saturday (Had a part to go to on Sunday). Had a good time swimming with the kids and relaxing. Was going to swim over to Leigh's crew to say Hi but the little one would not let me leave.

Next time come over with the little ones... Time to bring the dingy out with you..

I got to get the dingy out of the garage. Did not use it this year. Hopefully next year at the new marina I will bring it up.

Sure was a nice weekend to boat, your right the forum has been like a ghost town lately, mabey everyone is out boating and too buisy .
Canceled Champlain trip and going to do the eire canal instead with one other boat stony point to buffalo and back ,plan on leaving this thurs.if the weather looks good.
If the site does not pick up by the time we get back, I'll be glad to stirr the pot for ya , I seem to be good at starting trouble around here ( just kidding) :)

Hogan what do you think about trying to round up some locals and (HRCC-gang) for a mini cruise up or down the river , nothing too far , just a little get together before the seasons gone ? ANY-TAKERS ?
Perhaps a trip around the city or up to newburgh area , I'm up for anything, mabey just a afternoon raft-up ? What do you think HRCC ?

I think it would be pretty cool to get some of the boater ed folks together and put some faces to the names kinda thing .I know it's hard to get people together on the same day but was just thinking something simple like a mini fall cruise just around here there seems to be enough of us just around haverstraw bay area to make it fun.

Best Whishes , Jon............

jon, I'd love to, but you know that I am not allowed to go under any bridges!

Do you have the canal guidebook? If not, I can lend you mine.

We had a great time up the Rondout. We've been blowing out the systems while on a mooring ball across from the Anchorage. Seen a few R.O's and did some catching up. Yes, this was a great weekend. You know it's good when you can sit on the aft deck and plot the next cruise.
Let's hope that storm stays well off shore when it gives it up.

Indeed it was a great weekend.

Saturday - Double dated with my dog, a sweet girl I hooked up with and her canine companion. We cruised up to Albany and checked out this gypsy caravan. Keep an eye out for this gang, they are heading your way! http://laughingsquid.com/swimming-cities-of-switchback-sea-travel-down-the-hudson-river/

Then went down to Athens, walked around, anchored with friends fantastic dinner, great night to be on the water.

Sunday, "boat pooled" with friends down to Rondout. Had a blast checking out the soap box derby cars and the antique boat show. Ate lunch at The Steel House. Took the ride to the back of the creek and said hi to Mark at the Anchorage (Sorry we missed ya Pete - cya next time!) and caught up with Mr. Dan on his mooring. Freedom looks sweet as always!

It was a great ride home. Impressive amount of traffic in and out of Rondout and Catskill. Saw the "Gypsy Caravan" on its way down to Catskill or Saugerties. That was pretty interesting!

Hi Ken - sorry we missed you. My son was in bed with a fever, and we didn't get up there until Sunday night. We were up there today, though, and had a good time doing something interesting - we car-topped an inflatable up to a hand launching site on the creek ABOVE the dam. It was a nice day on a little used spot known only to kayakers and neighborhood kids. Actually there were quite a few people there, but it was still quite pleasant...

Dan was still anchored out there last night, but must have gotten underway early this AM because we didn't hear him leave...

I'm home tonight because we have a business meeting tomorrow, then we're going up to the Dutchess County Fair Wed, then out on the boat Thu. Then This weekend its up to Lake George for a week with the Glastron (we're staying in a resort, though!).

I took advantage of the time being "stuck" at home while J recuperated and replaced all the brake lines on my trailer - that was a fun job! We'll see how well I did on this trip, I guess...

Glad you had a nice time!!!

Thanks anyway Hogan but I have it, nice of you to offer though,I bought the newest one the last time we were at roundout and not much difference between it and the older one, along with the few other rags about the canal(guess I'm nuts but I like reading junk like that), even have the NOAA CHART #14786- not that you really need it, you know how us boat nuts are.

Been a few years for me going past Oswego and we are looking forward to the trip and a much needed few weeks off !

Gonna bring the lap top this time and see if I can grab some siginal here and there , Mabey meet some of the hrcc up north and out west to say hi and perhaps have a beer or two... or three :)

Gotta keep an eye out for that "Gypsy Caravan" thing KD was talking about, it looks interesting to say the least KD.
Nice to hear most were enjoying the nice weekend.... Jon F

Pete glad we didn't wake you folks up. It sounds like you all needed the rest. Hope everyone is better now.

Mike, et al

It was alot of fun. The kids did have a blast. I am glad the we were able to convince Wayne to stay out. Ethan wants to learn how to knee board/wake board.
Did I give you the $5.00 for ice that Tim picked up?

So glad I saw this post. A couple weeks ago I went for a ride down to the federal lock and back with a friend, and we saw a handful of people piecing together what we decided was going to be a floating bonfire.

There was a fellow boater slowly passing by checking out the spectacle as well. I asked them what was going on and they were just as confused as we were.

Nice to see the mystery solved, and I wish them all the best on their journey to NYC on those... things.

Bob,
We also had a great time. Thomas and Victoria always has a super time with all there friends.
I slept great knowing Mike was up all night watching the anchors. (Kidding). We just have to convince Mike and Waren to come to SPBM and all will be complete.
G dock at SPBM some of the niceest people.
Now, I just have to get a boat longer than my dock neighbor.

bob, now I know why Tim has been referring to you as a "deadbeat" all this week...
