Well I visited the boat yesterday late afternoon in preparation for my wife and I spending Friday afternoon through Monday on the boat. I discovered my PuraSan had a broken adapter from the freshwater solenoid to the plastic check-valve. I called Vic at 3:45PM and asked if it was too late for overnight shipping and he said it was. Then he suggested stopping by my house on his way home and dropping them off. I found out we live 2 towns away from him, but it isn't a straight line. I had a mental picture of what Vic would look like and I was dead on. That is outstanding service! He wouldn't even take gas money I offered him he had to go at least 15 miles out of his way to get to my house (round trip). Next time Vic comes through town I'm buying him a drink or a late lunch.
What a great guy, thank you Vic!

Hey Danny, when you point one finger at someone else, take a look at your hand - 3 of your fingers are pointing back at you! [:-bigeyes] [:-bigeyes]

That having been said, I agree completely with you. Being old and portly isn't considered to be sexy any longer (by anyone else but ourselves) -- sigh... :( :(

Danny (Barren River)and I are friends, and we kid each other back and forth. He is also a Raritan Servicing Dealer in southern Kentucky. He has a beautiful 70 foot Lakeview houseboat, and he was kind enough to take me, my wife and my mother-in-law out on it last year (or the year before?) on Barren River Lake, while we were visiting in Kentucky. On the way in, it was raining pretty hard, and he was able to slide that monster into a covered dock that only had about 18" of clearance on either side, just like he knew what he was doing... ;) Then afterwards, he and another buddy cooked us a SUPER steak dinner with all the trimmings.

What a guy!!!

Bill, it was good meeting you last evening. After speaking with you a number of times on the phone, and corresponding with you here on the board, I thought it would be nice to meet you in person. I didn't have any committments early last evening, so driving over was no big deal to me.

Plus, I can crow about having met another RO in person! I have around a dozen now on my list. Heck, I've even met the GXTBC.

Have a great weekend, all!

I installed the part Vic thanks it was great meeting you. Too bad we changed the subject when it came to Block Island Bob.
Tomorrow I tackle the reconfigure of the PuraSan with the quick disconnects. I'm not looking forwwrd to it but it will make life easier.
Thanks again.

That's great. A marine store with home delivery. Just like pizza or chinese food!

I wonder when West Marine is going to start doing that?

We have actually had one of the local sales guys who used to work in the Millville Silverton/Mainship plant prior to working at WM visit us to deliver a part at our boat from the Tuckerton store. He really wanted to see the boat. So I guess it can and has happened for me.
But Vic really did me a huge favor and did go out of his way. I think it was 3 hours from when I called him about overnight shipping until we met at my house.
Thank you Vic, much appreciated!

We have a Servicing Dealer in Hawaii and I've been trying to whangle an excuse to hand-deliver parts to him. But so far, I haven't been successful in convincing my boss...

Bill, hope you had a good weekend!

I had a great weekend Vic even started early Friday at noon. I straightened out the PuraSan with the check valve and quick disconnects I showed you and replacing the red check valves. I also did a complete cleaning off all the various T's, fittings and the cartridge canister. It is working like a charm. I don't need to replace the joker valves on the head yet because she isn't losing any water so they go in the spare parts bin with the extra freshwater solenoid adapter.
