Fireworks Tonight

Caught the last 15 minutes of the show, it was *excellent!* There were people in the marina saying that it rivalled hte Macy's show on the 4th!
 
We watched the whole show from Bowline, with music simulcast on 100.7. What a great show, definitely the best one on the river.
 
The show was great but I have to say, you guys have the best idea. It was very stressful/annoying battling the traffic up and back, watching people get there late and anchor right in front of you, etc. One sailboat nearly banged into us trying to set their anchor, I had to whistle at them to warn how close they were. Another guy in a small runabout came through the anchorage on plane and ended up snagging someone's line not too far away...WTF? It was a small commotion and none of the dozen police boats came over to investigate/assist. I "only" saw two boats without lights and "only" one dude with a spotlight aimed at me. Yep, next year, we should take the train up....perfect seats, cheap and easy.
 
Well not "tonight" but Monday night (9/3) off the Newburgh waterfront...no kids allowed, they gotta get ready for skool!
