Good Evening all; the wife and I were planning a trip up the hudson from Sandy Hook for memorial day weekend with some other boating friends.
We bought our 31' cruiser last summer and this is our first boat; my question is this. Intially we were making this trip with friends that had a ton of experience. Now that we are looking at doing the trip alone; I somewhat apprehensive. We have taken a number of boating courses; and have hired a captain to work on close quarters handling. But what we lack is the confidence to really enjoy the cruiser for what it is meant to do; travel on its own bottom.
We were looking to leave on Saturday AM and return Monday AM; would anybody have an idea on what an easy trip maybe; places that are easy to get in and out of as well as something to do during the day; either great places to drop the hook or neat towns to explore. We tend to travel at just about 18-20knots.
As always your thought are greatly appreciated.
