I have always flushed my engine religiously after each ride. I have done it on my outboard and now with my I/O. Last week someone mentioned that the Dania Canal is brakish water and I don't really need to flush my engine with fresh water.
The boat is stored about 5 nautical miles from Port Everglades.
One guy at the marina was even curious looking at me flushing my engine and he admitted it's the first time he had seen people do it at that place.
Am I some kind of an oddity or am I doing the right thing?
