I've raised a few posts over the past couple of weeks re problems with a smell in my flush water and my electric head losing prime - Thanks for advices.

It took a turn for the worse this weekend and sorry, but there's no elegant way of describing this problem.

When a Number 2 is performed, the flushwater itself is brown and stinks !! Head had been used many times over the week-end and previous flushes were clear.

I know that the Jabsco uses a single shaft to drive both the waste and flush pumps, and I guess that maybe there's some sort of a seal between the two chambers that must have failed.

Anyone seen or heard of a similar problem ??

Setup is;

Head: Jabsco 37010 Electric
Holding Tank: 120 Ltrs
Flush: RawWater
Boat: 2006 Larson

I would start by rebuilding the head. The rebuild kits are not expensive, around $25 from BF if I recall, and will only take an hour or so to complete. The kit includes all of the seals, a new joker valve and a new "chopper" plate. I'll bet it's a tired joker valve that's giving you the problem you describe.

mine did the same thing, i found out the intake hose was pretty clogged up. took teh hose off beat it up a little to break everything loose, re installed and proplem is almost solved. i also have a ton more water when i flush.

The seal in question is item #19 (on page 3)

- it's allowing dirty water to bypass it and get into the raw water pump behind it, which then gets pumped back up into the top of the bowl.
-- It gives a whole new meaning to the word "recycle."

As Mikee H said, get a repair kit for it and go over the whole thing while you have it apart. The head should have a kit put into it every 3-5 years.

Thanks Guys,

I'm trying to get dealer to do this work under warranty (I'm the first owner, but the boat was sitting unused in the dealers pen for more than 6 months prior to me buying it).

I guess maybe some of the seals have dried out due to non-use.
